The next set of posts will be about certain iconic people who support the runners on the course year after year.
The first one is the Waiter in a Tux. Located on 48th Street just past MILE 5, Ted Glazer is the man in the tux and comes out serve water to the runners each year. Several years ago, the Lincoln Journal Star wrote an article about him which you can find here.
What the article doesn't tell you about that gloomy, drizzly day that he showed up in jeans... LTC's Aid Station coordinator at the time, Mike Boland (Oh Water Boy), was the race official that not just sent him home, but arranged for lights/siren to hustle him home to get the coveted tux. Since then, he's not shown up without it.
